OMD assinalam 40 anos com uma caixa cheia de gravações inéditas

Os OMD – já ninguém lhes chama Orchestral Manouevers in the Dark – vão assinalar a etapa final de uma série de lançamentos comemorativos dos seus 40 anos com a edição, a 4 de outubro, de uma caixa antológica. Terá por título “Souvenir” (que deu nome a um êxito seu em 1981) e inclui 5 CD e 2 DVD.

Dois dos CD correspondem a uma reunião de todos os singles editados desde “Electricity” (1979) até ao novo “Don’t Go” (2019). O terceiro CD junta uma coleção de maquetes de temas inéditos que foram originalmente gravadas entre 1980 e 1990 e que agora foram selecionadas e misturadas por Paul Humphreys. Os CDs 4 e 5 recuperam gravações ao vivo captadas em Londres, recordando, respetivamente, um concerto de 2011 no Mermaid Theatre e um de 1985 no Hammesmith Odeon, em 1985.

Por sua vez os DVD vão apresentar uma coleção de atuações em programas de televisão, o filme “Crush – The Movie” e ainda o registo de duas atuações ao vivo, uma de 1981 e outra de 1985.

A caixa inclui ainda um livro com fotografias, imagens das capas dos discos, um texto de introdução por Paul Morley e notas sobre a obra dos OMD assinadas por Andy McCluskey.
